Darien Lake Theme Park Resort, set to open on May 3rd, is gearing up for the 2008 season with a new roller coaster, new live entertainment, a new general manager and new lower pricing.
 Darien Lake Theme Park Resort has announced the addition of its newest and most radical coaster yet, MotoCoaster! The first coaster of its kind in the country, MotoCoaster launches guests from zero to over 35 miles per hour in three seconds. Riders will ricochet around figure eights and turn on a dime as they swoop over 1100 feet of track on this gnarly coaster.
MotoCoaster allows guests to hop aboard their own extreme sportbike and riders climb over 40 feet on their street modified super sport motorcycles and reach speeds upwards of forty miles per hour. Speeding through figure eights and around hairpin turns won’t cause road rash on this ride. This coaster purrs as it hugs turns and corners the track while carving out a name for itself in the history books.
“Darien Lake Theme Park Resort will deliver the most exiting season in 2008, starting with new lower prices,” said Darien Lake Theme Park Resort’s new General Manager, Christopher Thorpe. “The addition of MotoCoaster continues to enhance the park and establish Darien Lake as the coaster capital of New York.”
 Darien Lake’s award-winning Cirque show is back- bringing more thrills than ever before as fantasy, imagination and impossibility meet stunning acrobatics. This year’s new show, Cirque Nouveau, brings even more excitement, thrilling acts and heart-stopping acrobatics than last year. Guests will witness some of the world’s best acrobatics in an artistic experience that is perfect for the whole family. Elements of the show are woven together with heart-pounding classical music delivered with sensational rock band style arrangements.
To kick off the upcoming season, Darien Lake has added three additional new live shows throughout the park. An Alarming Adventure, the newest children’s show in Adventure Isle, is a sing and dance- a- long adventure with Pirate Pete and his friends as they search for clues to the lost alarm clock. Darien Lake has added an all new show in the Grande Theater, Rhytmnicity, a non-stop song urban-style street show combines rhythmic elements, hip hop dance, outstanding vocals set to a dynamic musical score. To round out the entertainment package Darien Lake is giving guests a chance to test their brain power in AND THE ANSWER IS!, an exciting variety game show full of hilarity, chance and tons of fun.
Darien Lake Theme Park Resort’s award winning LaserBlast, an enhanced state-of-the-art visual display combining the latest in aerial fireworks, pyrotechnics, laser animation, lights, sound, and musical choreography will complete guests’ memorable day of fun and excitement returns with an enhanced spectacle.
In addition to the new shows and MotoCoaster, Darien Lake Theme Park Resort has reduced the main gate admission for adults and for children (under 48”). The after five pm and senior pricing has also been reduced.
