Find the Perfect Sunglasses for Your Face

sunglassesWith the sun shining once again reach for your sunglasses to add that extra, fashionable touch to your style and face. Sunglasses are a fashion accessory. Pick the right style for your face shape. Use these tips and tricks for finding the perfect sunglasses to flatter your face this spring.

For an Oval Shape

If you have an oval face, your chin will be thinner and longer in comparison to your forehead. An oval face is a balanced face. For this shape, look for sunglasses that are wider set with larger lenses. This will flow with your facial shape and won’t cause any unusual angles. Have fun with this facial shape! Colorful sunglasses go great with an oval shaped face.

Avoid styles that have a heavy form or are angled too much. The perfect sunglasses for an oval face usually have a square frame. Remember, it’s all about how you balance out the shape of your face with the sunglasses.
For a Square Shape

A square shaped face has a wider chin and a broad forehead. The perfect glasses for a square face are an oval shaped frame. This will soften hard angles and elongate your entire face. Look for sunglasses in dark brown, dark grey, or black. The darker the color the better; it will make your face appear slimmer and less angular. Stay away from square or rectangular sunglasses. These will just highlight your chin and forehead causing your face to appear thicker and broader!

For a Heart Shape

A heart shaped face usually has a wider forehead and high cheekbones that taper down to a narrow, thin chin. Angular or aviator shapes will balance out this facial shape. Look for sunglasses in light colors, such as brown or grey, to keep the line of the face smooth. Also, opt for rimless sunglasses, which complements a heart shaped face the best.

For a Round Shape

A round face is very full with the length about equal to the width. For a round face, look for sunglasses with a thick rim in dark colors such as deep browns and crimson reds. Make sure you choose sunglasses with thicker frames that are wide around the temples. This shape and color will give your face a longer appearance as the width around the temples will created the illusion of an “endpoint” on the sides on your face (rather than a continuous round look).
