How to Find the Perfect Swimsuit for Your Body Kate Peskor |
| |
The temperatures are rising and swimsuit season is just around the corner. Still not in shape? Want to hide those extra flaws? Try these tricks for hiding your “problem areas” while keeping your swimsuit stylish.
Small on Top?
For women who are smaller on top, try choosing a bikini top that has padding, or “push-up”, with a wire underneath. While the padding will give you that extra curve, the wire will shape your delicate bust line. Look for solid colored tops with a patterned bottom to draw more attention to your hips and lower body. This will give you a curvier illusion.
Women who are smaller on top can also opt for a strapless top to avoid those pesky tan lines. Don’t swim in a strapless bikini top, this could result in a wardrobe malfunction!
Big on Top?
For women who are bigger on top, look for a one piece suit with a built-in bra and separate cups for more support. This will also minimize the appearance of your chest and give you less cleavage. While this may not be the best option for getting an even tan, this suit will make you feel comfortable while you enjoy the sun all day.
Thicker in the Middle?
If you are thicker in the middle, look for a “miracle suit” that has a corset style. Many of these corset- style bathing suits have spandex in the middle to give you that sexy, hourglass shape. While these corset-styled bathing suits are not as comfortable as a bikini, you’ll look great and feel confident while your stroll the beaches and pools.
Big on Bottom?
If you’re curvier on the bottom, choose a bathing suit with an attached skirt or a separate sarong to cover up. Swimsuit bottoms with an attached skirt add a cute, flirty look to your swim attire and even out any imperfections you may have on your lower half. This new trend will keep you looking fresh and stylish without looking like you’re trying hard to cover something up.
