Come join us for Squeaky Wheel’s 5th Annual Outdoor Animation Festival on July 26th in beautiful Days Park, as we are presenting animations from Africa, the Netherlands, Argentina, Russia, Australia and Tonawanda!
Some of the highlights include:
The Carousel Maker by Howard Kim (11 mins, 2006, USA) — a fictional narrative which masterfully uses stop-motion animation to tell the story of the life of a carousel carver in Tonawanda, NY.
Hedgehog in the Fog by Yuri Norstein (11 mins, 1975, Russia) — the story of a little hedgehog who has magical encounters with a horse and a dog as he walks through the fog to see his friend, the bear cub.
Father and Daughter by Michael Dudok de Wit (8 mins, 2001, Netherlands) — the relationship between a father and his daughter throughout a life time (Academy Award – Best Animated Short Film 2001)
Muto by BLU (7 mins, 2008, Argentina/Germany, www.blublu.com) — an ambiguous animation painted on public walls in Buenos Aires and Baden.
In addition, we are screening Is Anybody Home? by Joshua Jackson, a documentary produced as part of Squeaky Wheel’s Buffalo Youth Media Institute, which focused on Buffalo’s East Side this year. |
