CSNY Movie Close To U.S. Release Deal
The Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young 2006 tour documentary "CSNY Deja Vu" is headed to theaters. "The Hollywood Reporter" says a U.S. distribution deal is nearly complete that would bring the film to the big screen, as well as the small screen via video-on-demand services, this summer. The politically-charged "CSNY Deja Vu" takes a look at the famed quartet's 2006 Freedom of Speech tour, presenting the connections between the musicians, the music, and the fans as well as the parallels between the political climate in the U.S. during the Vietnam War 40 years ago and the Iraq War now. The movie had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival back in January, and band members have said that they wanted the film to be released before the November elections as a way to spark further debate on the issues. "CSNY Deja Vu" is also expected to be available on DVD this fall. |
