Rihanna's "Take A Bow" Rockets To Top Of Billboard Charts
Rihanna's getting a big boost on the chart through her latest single "Take A Bow." Billboard.com reports the track has taken a near-record rise to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, jumping from number 53 to number one in just one week. Rihanna can thank the more than 260-thousand digital downloads of the song in its first week of release for the impressive showing. The downloads also helped "Take A Bow" secure the top spot on the Hot Digital song chart. The song's surge to the top is the second-best boost in Hot 100 history, only behind Maroon 5's 64-to-one jump last year with their hit "Makes Me Wonder." Interestingly enough, Rihanna has teamed up with Maroon 5 for their new single "If I Never See Your Face Again."
In addition, Rihanna now owns two of the top three opening week download rankings in chart history with "Take A Bow" and her other smash hit, "Umbrella." Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" leads that list. That song secured over 280-thousand downloads in its first week of digital release. "Take A Bow" is one of four new songs on the expanded release of Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad" album, due out June 17th. |
