Dozens Of Students Laid Low
(Los Angeles, CA) -- University of Southern California officials say at least 75 students have been treated for a highly-infectious stomach virus that is not serious, but can cause cramps, diarrhea and vomiting. An email sent to USC students Friday said the virus usually has an incubation period of 24 to 48 hours and the illness usually lasts one to two days. Students who do not feel well are asked to stay home, drink plenty of liquids and wash their hands frequently. The Trojans who got sick may have eaten at a campus cafeteria called "Everybody's Kitchen." Word of the outbreak comes just days after close to 200 students were sickened after dining at the cafeteria on the campus of Georgetown University. |
