Alan Jackson Becomes A "Giant"
Alan Jackson is the latest star to be honored with a "CMT Giants" tribute. George Strait, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Dierks Bentley, Lee Ann Womack and Miranda Lambert are already on board for the special, which will be taped at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on October 30th, with more artists expected to be added to the lineup. Tickets for the show go on sale Saturday. "CMT Giants: Alan Jackson" is scheduled to air on CMT on December 6th. Jackson's noteworthy career includes album sales topping the 50-million mark, and 16 Gold, Platinum, and multi-Platinum discs. He's logged 33 chart-topping hits, and penned 23 of those tunes. Jackson also has also earned a Grammy, for his moving post-September 11th tune "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)." Jackson becomes the third artist in the "CMT Giants" series. A salute to Reba McEntire launched the series, while Hank Williams Jr. was the 2007 "Giant."
