The Who Prepping New Material
New Who music could be on the way. Band frontman Roger Daltrey recently told Billboard.com that guitarist Pete Townshend is currently writing material for the group. But he admits it's too early to discuss the tracks, or the possibility of an album developing from the songs. The singer explains that his band mate isn't keen on talking about works in progress, noting, quote, "He doesn't know if he likes it until he knows what it's going to sound like." A new studio album from The Who would be the follow up to 2006's "Endless." That project marked the end of the classic rockers' lengthy recording hiatus, coming nearly 25 years after their previous studio effort, 1982's "It's Hard." But over the years The Who have been much more present on the road, and that doesn't seem to be changing. The band will return to the stage in a couple weeks, with a ten-date U.S. tour slated to begin in Auburn Hills, Michigan on October 21st. |
