Study Says Red Wine May Protect Against Lung Cancer
(Cleveland, OH) -- Studies have already shown antioxidants in red wine may benefit the heart. Now, a new study shows they may also decrease the risk of lung cancer in men, particularly among smokers. Cleveland Clinic cancer expert Dr. Derek Raghavan says the study was performed on smokers and non smokers.

California researchers found the most substantial cancer risk reduction was among smokers who drank one or two glasses of red wine per day. Dr. Raghavan says, however, the percentages are still small and does not give smokers a free pass to drink. |
