Forest Whitaker To Work Double Duty On Louis Armstrong Biopic
Louis Armstrong's life is on its way to the big screen. According to "Variety," actor Forest Whitaker will not only star in, but also direct an Armstrong biopic titled "What a Wonderful World." The movie is the first big-screen project to receive the blessings of the Armstrong estate. It is expected to chronicle Armstrong's early days in New Orleans as a broke musician, and follow his rise to fame. The Oscar winner said of the late trumpet virtuoso, quote, "He lived an amazing life and, through his art, shifted the way music was played and would be heard after him." Filming for "What a Wonderful World" is scheduled to start in Louisiana next summer. No word on when it's expected to hit the box office. |
