Robert Plant Among CMA Award Winners
Robert Plant has an award from the country music community. His duet with Alison Krauss, "Gone, Gone, Gone," took the title of Musical Event of the Year at the 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards. With the nod their track got the better of hit collaborations by such country stars as Kenny Chesney -- who was nominated for duets with Reba McEntire and George Strait; Sugarland featuring Little Big Town and Jake Owen; and Josh Turner with Trisha Yearwood. The critically-acclaimed Plant-Krauss tune is from their album "Raising Sand." The Eagles, however, didn't fare quite as well at the ceremony. The band, which was in the running for Vocal Group of the Year, lost to Rascal Flatts. The country trio took the category for a sixth consecutive year. The 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards were presented in a ceremony in Nashville Wednesday night.
