Cliff Richard Sets Wembley Record
Cliff Richard is setting a new record in Britain. The veteran performer launched his current UK tour Monday night with a show at London's Wembley Arena. It marked his 59th concert at the famed venue, and he also became the only pop act to take the Wembley stage in every one of the past five decades. Richard made his Wembley debut back in 1960, during the NME Poll Winners Party. Richard is currently on his Time Machine tour, as he celebrates his 50th anniversary as a performing artist. Richard recently released the new single "Thank You For A Lifetime," while the recently released two-disc retrospective "Cliff - The 50th Anniversary Album" and the box set "They Said It Wouldn't Last: My 50 Years in Music" also honor Richard's lengthy career. |
