Travis "Ode" To Tape
Travis is going old school with a nod to The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's" album for their latest effort "Ode To J. Smith." Bassist Dougie Payne says that the band began to get the itch to record again after their participation in the 40th anniversary musical salute to the Beatles classic record. For the session, Travis was able to use The Beatles gear from that time period, and they found it refreshing to work on tape again and record as one cohesive unit at the same time. Payne says that they came out on such a high from the session that it influenced the method in which they recorded "Ode To J. Smith."
To accomplish their recording goal, Travis even borrowed tape machines from Abbey Road. "Ode To J. Smith" is out now. |
