Roger Daltrey Reflects On New Who DVD
The Who has a new DVD in stores, but don't ask Roger Daltrey for a review. The singer tells "Rolling Stone" he hasn't seen "The Who: At Kilburn 1977," and doesn't ever intend to watch it. The classic rocker says he doesn't like revisiting the past because, quote, "what's done is done." But he notes it's possible he might one day see it, joking, quote, "Maybe when I'm old and laying at home with Alzheimer's, I'll go 'Well, this is a very interesting band...'" However, given Daltrey's memory, he also doesn't need to see it. While the concerts took place more than 30 years ago, he says he still remembers the shows. The new DVD captures The Who in concert at Gaumont State Theater in Kilburn, North London, and Daltrey recalls that at the time Keith Moon's drinking problem "got the better of him," so they weren't the drummer's best performances. But that doesn't mean Daltrey thinks they were bad shows. He praises his late band mate, adding, quote, "Even Keith Moon at his worst was amazing." "The Who: At Kilburn 1977" will be released Tuesday.
