Study: Stem Cells Restores Hearing, Vision In Animals
(Washington, DC) -- Stem cells have been shown to restore hearing and vision in animals. Researchers say they used human bone marrow stem cells to repair hearing in guinea pigs and restored eye sight in tadpoles by using frog cells. One of the researchers said, "These discoveries illustrate stem cell research's continuing extraordinary potential to treat a wide range of deadly and disabling diseases." The research team admits the data offers no immediate uses for humans, they called it a stepping stone to developing regenerative medicine.
