Aretha Appreciates "Rolling Stone" Honor
Aretha Franklin says she appreciates her new "Rolling Stone" honor. The Queen of Soul tops the publication's list of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. The magazine surveyed musicians, industry insiders, and its own editors to create the rankings. Franklin says she's "thrilled" with the results, especially because it's from "Rolling Stone," and she offers "many thanks" to those who voted for her. Some of the stars' choices are posted on the magazine's website, and Aretha made the cut on a number of ballots. She leads Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards' list, and is in the top five for Bruce Springsteen, Bruce Hornsby, Booker T and the MGs' Steve Cropper, and Solomon Burke. |
