Apple CEO Steve Jobs Returns To Work
(San Francisco, CA) -- Apple CEO Steve Jobs is back on the job from a medical leave that lasted close to six months. An Apple spokesman said Monday that Jobs will be at the high-tech company's main office in California's Silicon Valley a few days a week and will also work from home. The 54-year-old announced in January he was taking a leave of absence from his CEO duties, calling his health-related issues "more complex" than he originally thought. Jobs underwent a liver transplant during his medical leave. The Memphis, Tennessee, hospital where the transplant was performed says his prognosis is "excellent." Jobs was treated for a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004. Apple's share price was up by about five-percent in early afternoon trading on the tech-heavy Nasdaq index. |
