Continuum Health Withdraws NY Hospital Take Over Plan
(New York, NY) -- A plan from the hospital group to take over operations of New York's cash-strapped St. Vincent's Hospital is no longer on the table. Continuum Health Partners is withdrawing its offer to run the iconic Greenwich Village hospital and close its emergency room and make it an outpatient facility. Continuum President Stan Brezenoff says the group received negative feedback from both St. Vincent's and the state Health Department. The city's last Catholic hospital received a state loan this week to make its payroll. St. Vincent's has a 700-million-dollar debt. |
