Grand Jury Investigating Management At Jackson Health System
(Miami, FL) -- A grand jury is investigating allegations of "gross mismanagement" at Florida's Jackson Health System. According to the "Miami Herald," a grand jury has started hearing testimony from relevant witnesses after the state attorney's office received complaints about how the public hospital was being managed. Last month, the head of one of the employee unions at the hospital sent a letter to the state attorney demanding better accountability from leadership at the hospital. Jackson Health System officials and the Public Health Trust are trying to close a 229-million-dollar budget gap. The hospital says it will be out of cash next month without a bridge loan. |
