Obama Lobbies Wavering House Dems On Healthcare
(Washington, DC) -- President Obama is working on wavering House Democrats to support a final healthcare bill. If the House passes it Sunday, it will be sent to the Senate immediately for final deliberations. Dems need 216 votes to bring it home in the House. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs expressed confidence that the President Obama will be able to sign the sweeping legislation into law soon. Gibbs refuted speculation that President Obama has threatened retribution against wavering House Dems. |
