Kevin Costner And Modern West Dropping Lawsuit Against Promoter
Kevin Costner is dropping his lawsuit against the concert promoter he claims didn't live up to his word. The actor, who also fronts the country group Kevin Costner and Modern West, says he signed a deal with Richard Mahee for a five-concert, two-year deal, but Mahee, quote, "ultimately disappeared." Costner launched a breach of contract suit against Mahee and Mahee World Ventures back in April 2007. Attorney Melvin Avanzado says Costner asked for his multi-million-dollar suit to be dismissed last week because Mahee had filed for bankruptcy, quote, "so there is really no reason to keep pursuing this case at this point." Kevin Costner and Modern West will be performing this weekend. The group is scheduled to appear at Country Thunder in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin on Saturday. |
