Maroon 5's Adam Levine: It Didn't "Feel Right" To Play Arizona
Maroon 5 is set to go on tour Friday, but Arizona won't be one of the stops on their outing. According to PopEater.com, frontman Adam Levine just doesn't feel right performing in the Grand Canyon State with the controversial SB1070 immigration law set to go into effect on Thursday. The singer says, quote, "It was a really difficult decision to make because we have fans out there that are being penalized essentially by us not playing...It really kind of comes down to what feels right, and it really didn't feel right to play there and reward Arizona for what we thought was a really bad decision." Levine adds that the band's decision to avoid the state is about following their hearts and is not about grandstanding.
Maroon 5's tour kicks off Friday in Saratoga Springs, New York. The band's new album, "Hands All Over," will be released on September 21st.
